HomeAid Care Days
HomeAid Colorado brings construction-industry professionals and affiliates to hands-on volunteer days during which minor repairs and upgrades are made at our partner service provider locations. Tasks like painting, landscaping, cleaning, or small construction projects are done at no charge based on the organization’s needs. During Care Days, our volunteers complete construction projects and provide critical resources to non-profit care providers who assist those in our community at a high risk of homelessness.
Group Participation Fee:
Groups of 1-10 volunteers - $500
Groups of 11-20 volunteers - $750
Groups of 20+ volunteers - $1,500
Fee Includes:

The Action Center: Provides an immediate and compassionate response to those in our community experiencing hardship and by offering the resources and services needed to stabilize lives and promote pathways to lasting change. Learn more HERE
Projects: Located in Denver
Helping to ensure the shelves are stocked with groceries and helping to load community members’ food into their vehicles on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 5 volunteers at each time slot
Car loading, food sorting, and stocking: 8:30 am-12:15 pm and 12:30-4:15 pm
Clothing sort: 9 am-12 pm and 1-3:30 pm
BeyondHome: BeyondHome offers a comprehensive approach for families to become self-sufficient for life. At BeyondHome, families work hard to achieve personalized goals for their education, housing, finances, and family. Learn more HERE

Townhome unit painting - 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, kitchen and 3 baths - 15-20 volunteers
Emergency Family Assistance Association: ,They provide stabilizing services, innovative programs, and transformative advocacy to strengthen families and create a thriving community. Learn more HERE
Projects: Located in Boulder and Louisville
Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive - Volunteers will help sort, organize, move, and stock donated food. This project is very physical in nature, requiring continual bending and lifting of heavy items including boxes and bags of canned goods. May 14th or 15th from 9am-12pm or 1-4pm. Groups of up to 10 volunteers.
Maintenance projects at various housing sites. Groups up to 15 volunteers in April-August.
Growing Home: Dedicated to creating a thriving and equitable north Denver metro area to strengthen families, nurturing children, and connecting community fills a gap for families who are experiencing immediate and long-term barriers to stability and success. Learn more HERE
Projects: Located in Westminster
Pantry Stocking for groups of 5-6 volunteers
Food Rescue: Monday-Friday 7am-9am —> Travel to partner grocery stores to receive donations and transport them back to Growing Home. Help unload donations and support with getting them inside and stocked
Pantry Stocking: Mondays 8:30am-12pm or 12pm-3pm and Thursdays 12:30pm-3pm of each week —> Unload a large amount of food into the pantry. Cleaning and sanitizing. Organizing and stocking shelves
Food Pantry: Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm and Thursdays 2:30-5:30pm—> Lifting and stocking food, supporting families choosing their food and in the waiting room, supporting foot and vehicle traffic, monitoring the number of families, and help clean/sanitize
Community Gardening
Harvest —> Group of 20 volunteers can harvest crops every Tuesday from 5pm to sundown May-October 6-8 pm
New home construction
Will need help moving equipment and with small projects
Integrated Family Community Services (IFCS): They provide basic human services and enrichment programs to low-income people, using community resources. IFCS fosters self-sufficiency and respects the dignity of each client, serving the greater Denver metro area. Learn more HERE
Projects: Located in Englewood
Food Market Stocking: Every week IFSC receives up to 10,000 pounds of food and they need help stocking shelves. 4-6 volunteers who can lift up to 40lbs consecutively for 2 hours are needed.
Individual volunteers are greatly needed, especially those who are bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese speakers
La Puente Home: Serving Colorado’s San Luis Valley by providing food, shelter, and advocacy for the homeless and community members in crisis. Learn more HERE
Projects: Located in Alamosa, groups can volunteer for 1-4 days and stay at local lodging. Good for all ages. Lots of projects from gardening, painting, construction, and more
Mercy Housing: For more than 40 years, Mercy Housing has worked to address the shortage of affordable housing across the country, guided by our core values of respect, justice, and mercy. Tennyson Center for Children: Strives to improve the mental health and wellness of those impacted by trauma and other adverse experiences. We believe that everyone has the opportunity and support needed to learn, grow, and thrive. Learn more HERE

Indoor campus clean up - 5 to 15 volunteers at 1 pm on Wednesdays or all day Friday. Available dates include 3/22, 3/27, and 3/29.

Assembling a tuff shed in the yard at one of the properties to hold bicycles and other rec items for the youth at the program. The current shed needs demolition before the new shed can be assembled

Meal prepping and serving - up to 5 volunteers
Cleaning and organizing shelter - Wednesdays for up to 15 volunteers
Volunteers of America: The Mission is a daytime shelter that provides clients with food, clothing, job training, employment assistance, spiritual guidance, referrals, and a safe place for relaxation and refreshment. Each day an interdenominational church service is provided to uplift the downtrodden and meet the spiritual needs of those with little hope. Learn more HERE

Meals on Wheels: Start at our new kitchen with a tour then deliver meals to seniors in need; 4915 E. 52nd Ave. Commerce City

Calling the Bingo numbers, verifying the Bingo winning numbers, giving prizes, playing Bingo with the residents

Make hygiene kits, no-sew blankets, and cards for homeless vets, and get a tour of the Veteran Services Center

WeeCycle: A Colorado-based nonprofit working hard to improve the lives of local families in need. We collect, “weecycle” and match essential baby gear to families through partner organizations focused on alleviating poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, teen pregnancy, and under-employment. By “weecycling” baby gear, we help keep children clean and safe and contribute to a healthier environment for their future. Learn more HERE

Go to the warehouse and sort baby clothes - 15 volunteers max for 2 hours, flexible on dates except on Monday & Thursday mornings
Mobil baby essential markets - 10 to 12 volunteers every Tuesday and Friday to help run the truck to distribute diapers to families, location changes every week
Builders For Babies
As our economy rebounds from the international health crisis, many parents are faced with the difficult decision between buying groceries or clean diapers. HomeAid believes that all babies deserve clean diapers and that’s why our Builders for Babies Diaper Drive is more important than ever before. Contact Us to learn more.
CareKits
Bringing together donors and volunteers, we collect and assemble travel-size toiletry items including soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and more. These items are then thoughtfully packaged into CareKits and distributed to the most vulnerable homeless populations through a network of emergency shelters and street outreach teams.
